In Polish, we had a word that perfectly describes my life now – niedoczas.
Niedoczas, or as I tried to translate it to English, the under-time is a moment in life where you have to much to do and not enough daytime to do it.
My entire January seems like an under-time.
We finished Fangs and Family, now encroaching on the beta reading stage, and I tried to calculate how much time I still needed and whether I would be able to release the book in February, as I promised to my readers. When I figured out all the times and dates, it looked like several things should have been done yesterday, but because of circumstances, I wasn’t able to do it.
We will see how time will fold for me and whether I will be able to dig myself out of the under-time. I’m only grateful for a few days of annual leave that allowed me to sort things out.
I think that is my biggest problem as an indie author. The solitude of tasks. No army of people does things for you, no editor, marketers, or typesetter other than the one you found and vetted yourself, and it takes time.
Everything takes time, and I still have to find some time for my day job and family life. So, does anyone know where I can get the time stone from Harry Potter? The one Hermione used to be in various clashing classes?
Because I would really use one right now.
