Instagram. What I’m doing wrong?

I really want to connect with our readers. I love to see the banter and fun on author’s groups on Facebook and all the interesting things that goes on social media. So I set up the Facebook group, and although we still have a long way to go it looks promissing. Our website has a good trafic too.

I understand Twitter but not really like it’s stream of posts and awkward for me settings and I kind of fall in love with TikTok. Not that I’m good in it, I’m very acutely aware that my 40 year old body is far from what I’m thinking of myself (I still would love to see my 20 something slim foxy rather than cat mom bod). I think if I coudl overcome my insecurities I could even become Tik Tok star 😁

… and there is Instagram. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. So many authors are doing this so it must be a sense or reason behind it but despite my best efforts I feel it is nothing more than spam bot promi site. Since I started posting about AUTUMN CHAOS and our life in general we gain almost a 1000 followers but I’m not sure majority of them are the real person. I also get 1k messages with “cheap price” , “super promotion” or “only with us you can get 2k followers in a month”.

But the thing is I’m not interested in followers or numbers. I want to connect with real people who would choose to chat with me because they like our books. So I must be doing something wrong if I can’t really connect with Inastagram and it feels more like a streat leaflet promo dumpster than a platform I can chat with my readers.

Do you have any suggestions what I can do to fix it?
