I’m a sucker for drama, and last night delivered 😊

I have the type of personality that loves to observe other people’s drama, and our recently moved-in neighbours are an endless source of The ‘Crime-Watch Today’ series.

Last night, we heard them arguing again, but as it is rather frequent, both Mark and I didn’t think much of it, although I had to admit I occasionally peeked through the window to hear particularly juicy moments about who f… who, why he is a bastard, and so on.

I’m not ashamed to admit it because it is not exactly eavesdropping when you are sitting in your own bedroom and the noise outside is louder than your own TV.

So this is how the story goes. The tenant of the house invited her friend because her friend’s boyfriend did something in a public place, and the friend was furious about it. They argued for about two hours, slamming things until one of the other neighbours called the police, and here comes the comedy.

Here in the UK, the police are… well, not nice, but very decent. They try to be polite and respectful as long as someone is polite and respectful toward them. This poor idiot didn’t get the memo, and as soon as they walked out of the car and approached him, he started cursing and shouting.

They politely asked him if he had a right to be on the property. I don’t know what chemical process this triggered in his brain, or if the last two brain cells suddenly collided because the idiot took a swing at the policeman.

Oh boy, was that a big mistake.

I forgot to mention that it was also recycling day, and the bins with cans, cardboard, and other recyclables all along the street.

He got trashed in the trash, but that wasn’t close to being the end of this docu-dramedy. He kept resisting, and after shouting several warnings, the policeman pulled out the tazer. That calmed the man down slightly, but not his girlfriend, who jumped into the fray, attacking the policeman, totally berserk.

As the girlfriend was restrained by another officer, the boyfriend became belligerent again, and the tazer was deployed. At this point, the rest of the police department arrived to provide support. I only wish I’d had popcorn and soda because it was an action movie worthy of being shown at the cinema.

Today, I may be sleepy, but it was well worth the late night, and I hope you enjoyed this story.
