It really felt like dying

Yesterday was supposed to be a big day. Something to celebrate as I released my Fangs and Family ARC to my readers. Instead, I was laying in bed trying to sleep off my raging fever and rigours between bouts of vomiting.

Who would have thought catching Norovirus would be such an adventure? But hey, when I do something, I do it well, even when it comes to the infection. My poor family didn’t know what was going on but was trying to look after me the best they could while my humble self woke up grumpy that I couldn’t work and even more annoyed that my body couldn’t keep the temperature right.

Mark pulled the short straw in my ordeal because I kept using him as my personal heater, and each time I had rigours, I demanded him wrap himself around me because he was the only thing that could keep me feeling reasonably warm when I was shaking. Still, it worked only till the point my fever dropped because then I felt he was overheating me, and I kept pushing him away.

And we were going like this all night long.

And he has to go to work today.

I was so grumpy even cats decided to avoid me, and that says a lot as those furballs never fail to remind me it is feeding time. Anyway today I’m more back to my normal self. I’m still sick as a dog but at least good enough to sit down and write something rather than sleeping all day long, so I can enjoy my ARC time and trace the reviews, hoping my readers will love my new book.
