Creative Differences

Yesterday Mark and I had a big shouting match about a scene. I can’t tell you much because there would be too many spoilers, but let me ask you a question. If you doing a sad, sweet goodbye, would you ever use a person’s full name?

I wouldn’t, but Mar editing Summer Veil insists that makes sense. Usually, we work in two different rooms. I’m writing in the living room on the sofa, and he is editing upstairs in the office, and as a good couple, we communicate via WhatsApp.

There is a caveat, though. It is difficult to argue via WhatsApp, so this how the situation unfolded. 🤣

Then the argument shifted to a shouting match.

M:‘Full name works best,’

O:‘No, it doesn’t!’

M:‘Yes, it does!’

O:‘I don’t like it,’

M:‘I don’t care. Don’t you dare to mess with it!’

O:‘Of course, I will!’

M:‘Oh, go stuff yourself!’

O:‘Yeah, you too!’

Our teenage daughter, ‘You guys are so weird!’

M&O‘No, you are weird!’ – that was us both simultaneously.

AND that’s how we edit the books and solve creative differences in our family
